We are introduced to Christopher Antony (Mammootty), a trigger-happy cop, who is facing a departmental enquiry after he gunned down a group of men allegedly involved in a gang rape. ACP Sulekha (Amala Paul) is appointed to lead a team to not just investigate this case, but to uncover the history of Christopher’s previous encounters.

The film quickly reveals the presence of an arch-villain (Vinay Rai) who poses a major threat to Christopher. Sulekha learns more about Christopher’s past, which forms the better part of the film. Who is Christopher? What is his past? Who is behind all this? These are the questions that will be answered as the story unfolds.

PERFORMANCE:

Mammootty is known for his outstanding performances in Malayalam films, and his recent release One is no exception. The film, director, tells the story of an upright and lonely policeman, played by Mammootty,

Mammootty delivers a powerful performance as the policeman, with excellent swag and mannerisms in the action sequences. Though the action sequences are few, Mammootty looks good all the time. Shine Tom also plays an important role in the film as DySP Kotrakan. His portrayal of the character is remarkable and his impromptu acting makes the insane officer who appears after the intermission fascinating.

Sneha and Amala Paul both had fantastic performances. It might be claimed that Vinay Rai, who was cast in the villain character, had a great Malayalam debut. Other celebrities include Kalesh Ramanand, Shaheen Siddique, Dileesh Pothan, Jinu Joseph, Nithin Thomas, Vineeta Kosi, Deepak Parambol, and Siddique. Guest appearances are made by Sarath Kumar and Aditi Ravi.

POSITIVES:

The movie has been praised for its realistic portrayal of characters, its gripping narrative and Mammootty’s performance. Mammootty’s character, Christopher, is shown as a man who is determined to fight for justice and is willing to put his life on the line to protect those he loves. Mammootty’s performance has earned him rave reviews from both fans and critics alike.

Unlike other Udaykrishna cop movies like Masterpiece, Aaraattu, and Monster, Christopher doesn’t give superstar Mammootty any mass introduction scenes or punch dialogues, so despite diving right into its theme and maintaining the same tone the entire time

Manoj’s portrayal of the protagonist has been praised for its realism and subtlety. He has maintained a professional delivery style throughout the whole movie while maintaining the gravity of the issue. The soundtrack, composed and performed by Justin Varghese, is another highlight of the film. The music adds to the film’s atmosphere and emotion, and helps to emphasize the story’s central themes.

Manoj’s performance is further enhanced by Manoj’s editing and Faiz Siddique’s camerawork. The duo work together to create an immersive experience, making the film come to life. The camera angles and editing techniques help to pull the viewer into the story, and emphasize the characters’ emotions.

NEGATIVES:

Mammootty is a veteran Malayalam actor known for his remarkable performances and captivating on-screen presence. This time, he appears in the recently released movie Christopher’, he has done justice to the role but it only focuses on style and action than overall presentation. His stern attitude throughout the movie was a highlight of the film, with the exception of a brief moment in which he shed a few tears.

Mammootty didn’t have to do much in this role, but he was still able to bring his charm and swagger to the table. He was the perfect choice for this role, as he was able to bring a sense of authenticity to the character. His acting prowess was underutilised in this movie, as there wasn’t much for him to do other than look good and shoot some dudes.

The BGM by Justin Varghese occasionally becomes too jarring and seems to be designed to boost Mammootty’s celebrity status each time he appears on screen. The images by cinematographer Faiz Siddiq and the editing are ok.

VERDICT:

There must be other ways to produce a pure action movie for a major celebrity than to seem like you’re taking revenge on rape victims. engaging in parts but the movie features several scenes depicting the rape of women, this is one instance where the line between entertainment and exploitation has been crossed.

FILMY CORNER RATING : 2.5/5
