STORY:
After realising that a number of works have been published under the name of the anonymous writer and that a blog is also being maintained in his name, Padmabhushan becomes intrigued about the identity and intentions of the writer. A startling twist is in store for him.
Padmabhushan (Suhas) is an aspiring writer from Vijayawada, who currently works as a librarian to stay close to literature. Little did his parents know that he even borrowed money to print his novel, “Toli Adugu” (Rohini and Ashish Vidyarthi). But his life was about to take an unexpected turn when his uncle (Goparaju Ramana) expressed his intention to marry off his daughter Saarika (Tina Shilparaj) to Padmabhushan.
Having read all of Padmabhushan’s novels, Saarika and her father believed him to be a well-known novelist. Little did they know that the works published in his name were actually written by an anonymous writer. This writer had even set up a blog in Padmabhushan’s name. Intrigued by the identity and intentions of this mysterious writer, Padmabhushan started his investigation.
What he found out shocked him. There was a startling twist in store for him. To find out what it is, readers must pick up a copy of “Toli Adugu”. This intriguing novel is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat, as Padmabhushan unravels the mysteries surrounding the anonymous writer.
PERFORMANCE:
The recently released movie, ‘Suhas’, has been receiving rave reviews owing to its compelling narrative and fantastic performances by its cast. Suhas is an aspiring writer who is played by the lead actor in the movie. His understated performance in all of the crucial scenes adds more dimension to the film.
The parents of the lead actor are played by Ashish Vidyarthi and Rohini, who are the perfect fit for their respective roles. Ashish Vidyarthi finally got a substantial role and he delivered a power-packed performance. Rohini, on the other hand, performed very well as a housewife.
The heroine of the movie, Tina Shilparaj, has a charming smile and her rapport with Suhas is well portrayed. She did a decent job as an actress. Gouri Priya, a young actor, has a suspenseful and subtle twist in her character and she played her part very well. The other supporting actors also did a great job in their respective roles.
TECHNICAL TEAM:
The film’s writer and director, Shanmukha Prashanth, used a relevant concept as his central idea and built the plot of Writer Padmabhushan’s life around it. The narrative began from the perspective of an aspiring author in a funnier, lighter tone. However, things become intriguing just before the break. Young writer aspirations and family conflict take a second place to attempts to amuse with a fresh twist. Even in the second half, this remains the case.
Sekhar Chandra’s music is only passable. Parts of the background music are effective in enhancing the emotions. Kodati Pavan Kalyan’s editing must be precise. The majority of the movie seemed slow-paced. Chai Bisket and Lahari flicks have pretty standard production characteristics, and there is nothing particularly noteworthy about the calibre of the work.
POSITIVES:
Writer Padmabhushan is making waves with its family-friendly narrative full of emotion and humour. Produced by Suhas, the film is narrated by him and has a positive message. It stars Suhas, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rohini Molleti, Praveen Katari, Gowri Priya Reddy and Tina Shilparaj.
Suhas’ performance as the lead character is outstanding. He has a natural comic timing and is able to deliver his lines with great ease. Ashish Vidyarthi, who plays Madhusudhan—Padmabhushan’s father—is also impressive in his role. His scenes will make you smile.
The actress Rohini Molleti, who plays Padmabhushan’s mother, Saraswathi, is excellent in her understated performance. Praveen Katari, Gowri Priya Reddy, and Tina Shilparaj also gave great performances.
Ultimately, Writer Padmabhushan is a great family-friendly movie with a positive message. The performances by Suhas, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Rohini Molleti will undoubtedly win the hearts of many.
NEGATIVES:
The movie is centered around a pleasant message that viewers will undoubtedly relate to. However, the storytelling is quite slow towards the beginning of the movie, which may lead to some readers losing interest. The role of Tina Shilparaj could have been written better, especially in the early half. Despite the director’s explanation, it does not seem believable that a rich girl would fall in love with a middle-class guy who has achieved nothing in his life.
The movie would have been more enjoyable if more sequences had been written for Rohini and Ashish Vidyarthi. If the first half moved quicker, Padmabhushan may have been more enjoyable and intriguing.
Though the beginning of the movie may be slow, the story ultimately reaches its climax and makes for a worthwhile experience.
VERDICT:
Padmabhushan is a simple yet powerful film that is worth watching for its conclusion. Despite having some flaws, the film manages to please the audience.
The movie has its fair share of humorous moments, and the soundtrack is also quite good. The movie also deals with some issues that arise when one tries to achieve success in the creative field.
The climax of the movie is the most moving part. It’s here that Padmabhushan finds the strength to carry on despite the odds. The message that the movie conveys is that true success comes from within and that a person should never give up on their dreams.
Overall, Padmabhushan is a movie worth watching. It is an inspiring story that is sure to leave viewers with a heartfelt message. The last act is particularly powerful, and it’s a great way to end the movie.
